Fire Chief Bill Guindon is 2nd generation fire service veteran who began working with the City of Burns on August 1, 2007. During Chief Guindon’s 20+ career he is served in a variety of positions in career and volunteer fire service organizations which have included Firefighter, Training and Safety Officer, Fire Service Liaison, Fire Chaplain, Deputy Chief of Operations, Training and Professional Development, Fire Training Center Director, and Fire Chief. During incidents he has served in a variety of capacities which have included Firefighter, Driver/Operator, Chaplain, Accountability Officer, Staging Officer, Incident Safety Officer, Operations Officer and Incident Commander.
Chief Guindon holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Organizational Management, Certificate from The Navigators Leadership Institute and has participated in numerous fire service training programs, seminars and educational opportunities throughout the U.S. Among Chief Guindon’s educational experiences are participation National Fire Academy's Executive Fire Officer (EFO) program, Training Program Management and Advanced Incident Safety Operations and Management courses and the FEMA Professional Development Series for Emergency Management. Chief Guindon has served as adjunct instructor with Pikes Peak Community College in Colorado Springs, CO.
Chief Guindon has served in a variety of fire service and community organizations which have included the Colorado Fire Training Officers and Colorado Fire Chief’s Association Executive Board. Accomplishments have included creation of training and professional development programs for paid and volunteer personnel, facilitation of curriculum development, promotional testing programs, Operational Response and Event Plans, Administrative Manual and Handbooks and renovation of a Fire and Life Safety Program. During his career he has delivered training courses to paid and volunteer personnel and community members.
